Field help Sale price: the item price the buyer pays, before shipping and tax. Buyer shipping: Poshmark ignores this: the buyer pays Poshmark for the label. Sales tax: collected and remitted by the marketplace, but some platforms charge fees on it. Applied to item + shipping. Your shipping label cost (under More options): leave it blank to assume it equals the shipping you charged. You paid for it: what the item cost you, so "you keep" is your real profit.

Calculating…

Poshmark has the simplest fee: a flat $2.95 on small sales and 20% on everything else. The buyer pays Poshmark for the prepaid shipping label.

How Poshmark calculates the fee

  • Flat $2.95 on sales under $15; 20% of the sale price on sales of $15 or more. The buyer pays Poshmark for the prepaid shipping label, so shipping is not part of your fee or payout.
  • Poshmark covers card processing and provides the prepaid label; you don't buy postage.
  • In October 2024 Poshmark returned to these original seller fees and removed the buyer protection fee it had briefly added.
Edge case at exactly $15. Poshmark's guide says sales "$15 or more" pay 20%, while its October 2024 blog post says "over $15" pay 20% and "$15 and under" pay $2.95. This calculator follows the guide ($15.00 pays $3.00). The difference is $0.05.

Examples

  • $10 sale: fee $2.95, you earn $7.05.
  • $50 sale: fee $10.00, you earn $40.00.

How the math works, what we assume, and where Poshmark's fee rules come from.

How we calculate

We take your sale price, the shipping you charge and the buyer's sales tax, apply Poshmark's published US fee rules (linked under Sources), then subtract your shipping label and what you paid for the item. Each fee is rounded to the cent. It is an estimate: your platform statement is the final word.

What we assume

US seller, US buyer, US dollars, one item per order, standard account in good standing, no promotions, ads, refunds, currency conversion or instant-payout fees. Sales tax is collected and remitted by the marketplace, so it is never part of your payout, but eBay, Whatnot (processing), Depop and Etsy (processing) still charge a percentage on it. "Payout" is what the platform sends you; "profit" also subtracts your label and item cost. Each fee line is rounded to the cent.
